This is true, but also another reason why I hate the notion of someone having “talent”. When you say someone has “talent”, it does two things: – it dampens the achievement of the one you refer to, making it sound like it just flew to them and was not trained for years. – it perpetuates the idea that some people are born and are just naturally great at something from the very start and that you just have to find that something you are naturally great at, like its some kind of reallife cutiemark bullshit.
When I was 5, I apparently thought thats what a bird looks like. So if there is anything I can give you all on the way, its DONT spend your life trying to find that cryptid of a thing that you are “naturally good at” aka “talented at”. Find the things that make you enjoy what you are doing, even if the end result looks like… well a rotund usumaki spiral of a bird with no beak. If you enjoy it, you will naturally do it again. And again. And again. And eventually that wont be a rotund spiral bird anymore.
I am sorry for hijacking this post. I just really felt the need to share this with you all. Life is difficult and taxing enough at this time, putting us further under artifically created pressure wont help. Stay strong. Do what makes you happy/relaxed. And be like me amused about the fact that 5 year old me apparently didnt know that birds have beaks, but certainly knew how many legs a spider has
